Sustainable Community Development – A tool to help people climb out of extreme poverty and become self-reliant
HOPE International Development Agency Japan (HOPE-JP) focuses on improving the living standards of the world’s extreme poor by assisting them on the path to self-reliance. It was established in Japan in 2001 and is part of the global HOPE International Development Agency network, headquartered in Canada. Since its founding in 1975, the HOPE network has jointly supported and changed the lives of over 20 million people, through sustainable community development projects.
HOPE-JP works in countries that include Ethiopia, Cambodia, Afghanistan and the Philippines, and undertakes and supports projects that empower people and communities in need. Projects focus on the provision of safe and clean water, primary health and sanitation, micro-loans to support income generating activities, education, and HOPE-JP also supports projects in areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, March 2011.
By connecting the compassion of individuals who would like to make a difference to people in need, we are able to continue our work, and we thank you for your support and encouragement.
